Autumn has arrived, and with it, walking in places like the forest. Do you enjoy walking or taking a nice stroll with, for example, your dog in the woods? Here are 4 tips for you, from shoes to socks to snacks!
1. Shoes, but which ones?
Shoes come in various kinds, sizes, colours, and prices. But how do you choose the right ones? First, it is important to think about how often and where you want to walk. For example, if you plan to walk a lot in the forest and on unpaved roads, it is wise to look for good sturdy walking shoes that are a bit higher. These allow you to walk well on unpaved and sometimes muddy paths. If you walk more on hard roads, your shoes do not need to be higher. In any case, make sure your shoes fit well right away. Don’t think they will stretch a lot. You will walk a lot in them, and if they don’t fit well immediately, you will regret it…
2. Which socks are really good?
Good socks are very important during walking. Socks ensure that your feet do not (or do) sweat. If your feet do not sweat, they stay dry, which ultimately prevents blisters. Are you planning to walk for a long time? Make sure to have good sturdy seamless socks made of special waterproof synthetic fibre. Would you rather have socks that fit well, don’t slip down, and you can wear outside of walking too? Then take a look at the ankle socks from SOLIT. SOLIT has both white and black ankle socks for both women and men!
3. Another blister… How do you prevent blisters?
A blister can quickly spoil your walk. A blister does not even have to be large to hinder walking. After all, prevention is better than cure when it comes to blisters, but how do you prevent them? Easy ways to prevent blisters are removing hard skin, keeping your nails short, and washing your feet with cold water without soap. This keeps your feet firm and not irritated. Still got a blister? The best remedy is a good blister plaster to ease the pain and prevent the blister from getting worse.
4. Energy with energy-rich snacks
Energy is of course very important during a good walk. Good snacks that give you energy are, for example, M&M’s, nuts, raisins, etc. Besides these snacks, a good sandwich is also very good for energy. Think, for example, of a sandwich with chicken breast, avocado, or ham.
