Regularly visiting the source of the SOLIT product is a must. Socks seem like a common product that has existed for a long time, but a perfected SOLIT sock requires more than just that. What do we mean and what are the main points of attention?
Part of the SOLIT production takes place in Turkey. On the SOLIT labels, you will often find 'Made in Türkiye can be found. The current production site was chosen after the SOLIT buyer visited a number of factories in 2020.
Why this place and not another factory?
In sock production, it is important that working conditions are good and that there is room for growth, both for the physical location and the vision of the factory itself. Given the history of sock production, it was a strict requirement to work with a supplier who has incorporated various digital developments into the process. The factory where the SOLIT socks are produced is actively working on this.
The OEKO-TEX label
For good working conditions, it is important that the factory meets a standard, namely carrying the OEKO-TEX label.
When a product carries the label 'OEKO-TEX® certified', it means that it is completely free of harmful chemicals and safe for people. Walking through the production halls and storage areas, it became clear that this is strictly adhered to. This also naturally keeps a location attractive for other customers from the EU or internationally.
The production of SOLIT socks
When it comes to the production of ankle socks, it is good to look at how both the toe of the sock and the band are finished. First of all, SOLIT works with a double-woven band; the upper edge of the sock is double-woven and then stitched closed. This is a process that does not apply to the production of long winter socks, so not all places are suitable for this.
In addition, it is important for the sock that it is seamlessly stitched closed at the toes. This is done by hand and carefully finished. All this to ensure that the customer ultimately does not experience irritation from a noticeable seam. The employees who handle this process are fully present at the SOLIT production locations.
